Oh, my, do I have a little treat for you today.
With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, you MUST have something to play on your ukulele.
Yesterday, I sent you a link for the 3-Free Irish Song Pack, and those are some fine songs for the holiday, but they lack one vital thing–any reference to ukuleles.
(By the way, the first person who writes a song rhyming ukulele with shillelagh is going to make a fortune…)
So, I’ve got another gift for you.
(There’s something about a non-Federal holiday that just brings out my generosity…)
Dig this title: O’Brien is Tryin’ to Learn to Talk Hawaiian. Oh, mama, they just don’t write ’em like that any more!
This song tells the story of Pat O’Brien who wants to impress a lovely hula dancer by speaking to her in her own language. It’s beautifully odd and entirely obscure, so you’ll almost certainly be the first on your block to be playing it.
I will go on record as saying that the title of this song alone has more good rhymes than any current Top 40 country song.
Let me know what you think!
